Former mayor of Aurora, Tom Weisner, was placed in hospice care Wednesday, Dec. 26, according to reports. He has been in a battle with cancer most of his three terms as mayor. He was resting after the placement in hospice care. Treatment has been ongoing. Wesiner was mayor of Aurora for 11 years, from 2005 to 2016. He left office prior to the end of his term to continue treatment and preserve his strength. Family members are with him in the trying set of circumstances. Julie Morrison, Montgomery Village engineer from Engineering Enterprises, Inc. shares information before a public hearing on a low-interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency at the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday. The purpose of the public hearing is to allow the public to comment on the Village’s plan to remove lead services in the Marberry Manor subdivision and the downtown area. The Village is seeking funding assistance to complete the project. There were no speakers at the hearing. She said following the hearing, there is a 10-day comment period where the public can submit written comments to the Village clerk or IEPA.
